Students receive their student ID at move-in
GEORGE GALE
39:39
University Welcome: While this event typically includes parents, our consultations with internal and external health experts indicate the safest move this year is to limit the event to students. We are now adapting the afternoon schedule for Monday, Aug. 16, to provide you and your students the opportunity to say your good-byes outside just before the welcome in the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center. After they go inside, you will be able to watch the event live online, or view a recording later.Parents’ Reception: Based on the advice of our health experts, we must regretfully cancel this event altogether. Gathering people in an enclosed space where food and drink are consumed—meaning masking is, at best, intermittent—simply poses too great a transmission risk.We realize that these changes are disappointing, and perhaps even unsettling. Like you, we very much hoped to enjoy a long-awaited return to the activities and energy that usually accompany this time of year.
Edwin Mayes
39:50
Thank you Albert. I didn't receive that email.

Sarah Schott
51:32
Daniel Morris, where did you see the Veale Center event would begin at 1? I saw no detailed schedule for that day - Thanks
Daniel Morris
54:14
not sure where I saw the 1 p.m. time. I thought it was in the email sent out that listed changes in the orientation week programs, and especially the changes in the family/parent aspects. I agree with others: we all need the in-person schedule for orientation week sent to us soon so we can make our travel plans. We had planned to stay overnight on Monday and leave on Tuesday morning, but if there are no events after the good-bye, we will leave CWRU at that time. dm
